Setup     

The Setup conditions generally consist of one or more Technical Analysis (TA) indicator tests that determines when a stock meets minimum qualifications for trading.

A setup is a Personal Criteria Formula (PCF) that that must test true before a stock will qualify to enter a trade. A simple example would be an 8 day moving average crossing a 13 day moving average. While this concept is exactly the same as that offered by TC2000 and TCNET, the difference is that TC-Companion Backtest will search backwards in time for all dates when the condition tested true.

 

If you are familiar with TC2000 Personal Criteria Formulas (PCFs), the creation of a Setup Strategy is very similar. TC-Companion (TCC) supports all TC2000 technical indicators except Time Sequence Volume where TCC will substitute a modified Money Flow Index indicator. Worden does not currently make TSV available through their toolkit interface. TCC does provide many additional technical tools not included in TC2000 and TCNET.
